Welcome

Hello Future Paramedics

Thank for choosing NMETC for the next step in your EMS career. Over the next 40 weeks we will be using the most state of the art teaching tools to help you be successful in gaining the knowledge, skills, and ability (KSA) for your future.

My expectation is that you follow the syllabus/ outline and read each chapter BEFORE the lecture. It will prepare you to ask questions during the lecture.  This is a college level program, the design of the course is you read the material and study it.  You will not be able to just listen to the lectures and grasp all the material to be successful. Lectures are used as an overview of the material and even though we will cover a lot of material in class, the information in your textbook is tremendous and will not all be covered in each lecture. Deadlines MUST be met! Please pay attention to them.

Each separate course and must be passed with a 75% all the quizzes and exams. They must be completed by the end of each module and if left incomplete will be graded as a zero.  Our program will offer you flexibility not found in a traditional brick and mortar school, but deadlines still need to be met.  This is a syllabus driven course and we will keep moving like a freight train.

Quizzes are open but they are due per the syllabus if they are not completed by the end of that particular course you will be given a zero for the uncompleted work.   Please remember paramedic school can have an avalanche effect on some.  If you get behind in the reading or assignments it will feel like an avalanche, slow at first than a insurmountable wall chasing you down a hill that will eventually overwhelm you leaving you buried, bruised and may be dying under a pile of emotions. If this starts to happen call me, I may be able to throw you a lifeline and help dig you out.

Good Luck everyone and thank you for choosing NMETC
